by Adrian McCluskey on Oct.19, 2009, under Home Decorations

It sounds like the latest Oriental dish, but feng shui is actually a method of organization and design that brings harmony and peace to your home or office. Read on to learn exactly what these two words mean and how you can benefit from them.

Feng shui is a spiritual system that began in ancient China about 3,000 years ago. There are many complex notions that go into feng shui but a simple paring down of the philosophy has become popular in the Western hemisphere today. Basically, feng shui revolves around the chi or energy that surrounds all life.

In literal translation, feng shui means wind and water. In China, these concepts are both associated with good health and prosperity. Use the basic principles of feng shui to ensure good chi flowing through your home or office.

Every room in your home has its own energy flow. In order to create a positive feel to a room, energy must be able to flow freely throughout the space. Need to Redecorate Your Kids’ Rooms but Don’t Have A Lot Of Time or Money? Use Letter Decals

by Melissa Evans on Sep.27, 2009, under Home Decorations

These days, it’s a tough go to redecorate your kids’ rooms, with tight budgets and so many other things you need to spend your hard-earned cash on. Fortunately, you can do so with relatively little time and expense with letter decals.

These letter decals are very affordable, meaning that you can purchase two sets of the entire alphabet and still barely touch your wallet. And unlike new wallpaper or new paint, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on additional materials like paste or wallpaper stripper. There is no need to use primer or emulsions, either, as you might have to with paint. And you got to spend any money on labor, of course, because your kids would love to help you redecorate their rooms.

When it comes to letter decals, you just need to pay for those and nothing else. You don’t need to buy something to make them stick, like wall paste. Adhesive is already on the decals, so there is no need to buy anything else; new wallpaper and paint aren’t necessary, either, because these decals can change the way your child’s room looks instantaneously. The decals can also be used throughout the house, except that you should keep in mind that they’re childlike and very colorful, so may not be suitable everywhere.
